Doing the basic preventive maintenance suggested by the vehicle manufacturers (e. g. the oil changes, tune-up) is a great way of prolonging the use of your car. Replacing the timing belt is the most important recommendation made by the experienced car ASE Certified Mechanics. Timing belts are made of durable rubber materials, timing belts will gradually wear out and fail (e. g. it breaks apart). When it breaks, the moving parts inside your car engine will collide. When the collision between moving parts in a very high speed happens, it will severely damage the valves and piston heads, that is very expensive car repair. Your car manufacturer suggests that timing belts should be replaced between 60,000 to 75000 miles. Fix it before it is too late.
